How I Spread Liberty (so can you!)

How do I get involved in spreading liberty? I have heard this question asked countless times on tv programs, radio shows, and podcasts.

The government has become a leviathan and does not value individual liberty. Despite the 2016 election results, government will continue to tax, make new laws, make war, imprison, and kill people.

Freedom comes with a price, eternal vigilance. Freedom is never won, it is only maintained, gained, or lost.

Government rules by force, violating the non-aggression principle. Communist and mass murderer Mao Tse-tung once said,”Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”

Tyrannical governments ban their citizens from possessing firearms. This is the only way that they can maintain control of their slaves (citizens).

What’s a Libertarian to do?

A life time commitment against tyranny and bad ideas is what’s necessary to spread the message of liberty. We need to advocate for freedom every day of the year and just really brainwash people into thinking about freedom in a vastly different way.

Kudos if you got the reference in italics, I changed a word thus flipping the script on their propaganda. The video clip below of Eric Holder has stuck with me. To hear a state actor call for the brainwashing of children against freedom and gun ownership is appalling.

I call anyone out on their lies and propaganda, that’s one way to spread liberty. When someone has a notion about something that they think is good, it becomes imperative to disabuse the idea when it is threatening to liberty.

Join an organization that you believe in such as Gun Owners Of America that will fight for firearm rights and the 2nd Amendment. Carrying firearms for self defense is compatible with Libertarianism and the NAP and is essential to the preservation of liberty.

Liberty can be gained in the hearts and minds of people. I spread liberty to the people I most often find myself around, family, friends, co-workers, social media, and Liberty Carry!

One time I went to a professional baseball game with friends. The ball park security has everyone empty all of their pocket contents into a plastic tray and walk through metal detectors like at a court house or TSA checkpoint.

I made sure to mention that I didn’t feel like a free person in America going through all that security theater and waiting a long time in line unnecessarily. I didn’t feel safer, I was annoyed, we were actually less safe because it was a gun free zone.

I talk to friends and family about how government intervention affects my job. I work in a retail store that sells liquor in addition to beer and wine and general merchandise.

I have to order the liquor from the state through a website they have. The state sets the minimum price that the bottles can be sold for. You must obtain a liquor license from the state of course and they can take it away if they wish. The state is controlling access to liquor and also fixing the prices and creating enormous barriers to entry and stifling competition.

I spread liberty by telling people things that touch their lives in some way, so that they have an interest in what I am saying and learning more. I launched Liberty Carry to reach even more people. Hopefully this will serve as inspiration for you to spread the message of liberty to people in your life.

A lot of people don’t think they can do anything, they are just a regular person with a basic education and a regular job. You’re wrong, you can do anything that you believe in when you put forth hard work for as long as it takes. All tyranny needs to take hold is for good men and women to do nothing.

Spread the message of liberty at all opportunities to everyone. It’s up to every individual who is Libertarian, to do what they can to spread the message of liberty.

    1. I agree, the NRA constantly sends mail for products, contests, and seeking donations, and the letters are annoying, using bold, underline, italics, and uppercase all over the page.

I’m pleasantly surprised when I receive mail from GOA. I like the included post cards addressed to politicians informing them about gun rights bills and how they should vote. I enjoy reading their newsletter.
